Original Acrylic on Canvas by Corinne Fallone of CAF Creations, 18” x 24”, unframed.

This piece was originally created for the Whitman Works Company special group exhibition, Un-Expectations: Exploring Female Roles and Voice”

From the artist: Inspired by distorted views of beauty on women all over the globe. The underlying pressure of achieving “ideal beauty” is represented in florals. “Weight of the World” displays a composition of a woman who carries the burden of beauty expectations internally and externally. The overflow of emotions bring her into darkness, in this case, outer space, which leaves her with feelings of isolation and insecurity. The woman symbolizes women all around the world who are victims of never feeling “good enough”. She will not know her beauty unless she finds it from within herself. Until she lets go of her burden, she feels the weight of the world on her shoulders.
